Our Anti-Panic Dog Snood is a handmade, sound-deflecting snood for dogs who struggle with fireworks, thunder and gunshots. Every snood is made by hand in Wales by a small family business that designed the original anti-panic snood.

A snood only helps if your dog is happy to keep it on, and that comes down to how it feels. Cheaper snoods are often thin, scratchy or badly shaped. They can sit too tight or slip over the eyes, and a dog who doesn't like the feel will soon paw it off, especially when they're already on edge.

Ours are made by hand in Wales by a small family business that designed the original anti-panic snood. Each one is made from soft, breathable fabric that's gentle on fur and skin, with a layer of special sound-deflecting foam to help muffle harsh, sudden bangs. The adjustable straps let you get a snug fit that stays in place without pinching, so your dog can settle, lie down and even sleep in it. Because it's made to last, you'll be using the same snood fireworks season after fireworks season.

The snood comes in 3 sizes - small, medium and large with adjustable straps which makes it very comfortable for your dog to both wear and take on and off. The straps also mean that the sizing can be quite flexible. Our dogs in the photo are all wearing a medium.

How to get your dog used to it

Hold a treat through the opening so your dog learns to push their head through.
Once they're happy wearing it, play a game or two so it feels relaxed and fun.
Pop it on regularly for short spells. On fireworks night, put it on before the noise starts, while your dog is still calm.

My dog is between two sizes. Which should I choose?

Go for the larger size. The adjustable straps let you take it in for a snug fit, but you can't make a snood that's too small any bigger. A snood that's too tight is uncomfortable, and an uncomfortable snood is one your dog won't want to wear.

Will it block out the fireworks completely?

No snood can block sound completely. The sound-deflecting foam helps muffle and soften harsh, sudden bangs, which can make loud nights feel less overwhelming. It works best alongside a quiet, cosy spot indoors, closed curtains and some background noise like the TV or radio.
