Frequently Asked Questions

My dog has a seasonal allergy. What natural products are best suited?

Lots of dogs get seasonal allergies in Summer. I recommend that you look at our Seasonal Allergy bundle. It contains the following three products and is cheaper than buying them separately.
Ditch the Itch and Skin Combo homeopathy. These 2 products work really well together. The Ditch the Itch contains a homeopathic blend of grasses, pollens and house dust mite to desensitise your dog to these common allergens whilst the Skin Combo acts like a natural anti histamine. I suggest you start at the highest dose and gradually reduce to find the minimum that you need to keep your dog comfortable.
Lucaa+ Pet Allergy Skin Spray. This spray is new to the market and I think it is going to be a game changer for pets with allergies. It contains probiotics which are dormant in the bottle but which once sprayed on the dog (or a surface with allergens on it) the probiotics come to life and effectively eat the allergens. The Spray also helps to restore the microbiome of the dog's skin which is often compromised in dogs with allergies - especially if they have been using steroids long-term.

What is the best option for minor ear issues in pets like mild scratching?

For minor ear issues in pets, such as mild scratching without visible signs of redness or infection, Ear Drops should help. Ear drops are soothing and can trickle down the ear canal, which makes them effective at addressing potential inflammation within the ear.

How long does Leaky Dog take to work?

Most customers see an improvement quite quickly with Leaky Dog - normally within a few days however do allow up to a week. If after a few days your dog has improved but is still leaking a bit then consider increasing the dose of the tablets to two per day so one AM and one PM. If after this they are still leaking then you could consider using the Dry tincture as well if you are not already using it. The tincture contains different ingredients to Leaky dog so the two work well together. Do bear in mind that incontinence can be caused by a wide range of issues so do make sure to consult your vet to find out the cause of the incontinence.

My dog is aggressive towards other dogs. I think it is fear based.

For fear based aggression we recommend our homeopathic tablets Nonaggress Plus. The dose is one tablet per day irrespective of the size of the dog. It is not an overnight cure but you should start to see a difference within a few weeks. The Nonaggress Plus also works well with our Calm Dog hemp oil.

What can I do to help my dog who is scared to go out for a walk?

In general, a dog who is scared to go out for a walk has either missed out on early puppy socialising or has had a scary experience while out for a walk. Either way short happy walks that always end with a fun experience are the way forward. Lots of reward based training is also key so that you can give your dog a command they understand and reward them when they do as they're told.
Homeopathy like Sanper 1 or Sanper 2 can also help support your dog's emotional balance and boost their confidence. Sanper 1 is more suitable for dogs that are naturally timid or may have missed out on early socialization, while Sanper 2 is more suitable for dogs that may be rescues or had a previous bad experience.

How long does homeopathy take to work?

It is not an overnight cure particularly because behavioural problems often take time to resolve if they have become a habit. Take the 30 day course initially and you should see a difference in a couple of weeks. If you see a change then purchase the 90 day course and don't forget to do lots of reward based training to reinforce the new positive behaviour. If there is no change then please get back in touch with us as we can sometimes tweak the homeopathy depending on your feedback.

I paid for a 3 month course of tablets but only received one bottle

The 3-month course (90 days) is packed in a single bottle. There will be 90 written on the lid

How often should I give Ditch the Itch and Skin Combo to my dog?

We suggest giving one Ditch the Itch pill three times daily. Skin Combo can be given more frequently, even as much as 1 pill every 2 hours, but reduce the frequency as the itchiness or redness reduces.

My puppy is chewing everything. Help!

Young pups will be teething and need to chew. Give them appropriate toys to chew on but don't give them an old slipper as you can't blame them then for chewing your new slippers!
If your pup is only chewing when left home alone then this is a stress related behaviour so you should try herbal calmer Calm Xtra, which can be given before leaving your dog alone or our homeopathic No Chew tablets.

My dog has itchy, gunky ears. Can you help?

Itchy ears can sometimes be linked to seasonal sensitivities or an imbalance in the natural ear environment—often the two go hand in hand. Here’s a gentle plan that many of our customers find helpful in supporting ear comfort and long-term balance:

Ditch the Itch – This natural product contains a gentle blend including grass, pollen, and house dust mite. It’s used to support dogs who react to common environmental triggers. The usual approach is one tiny pill, three times a day.

Dog’s Life Ear Cleaner – Start with this to gently clean the ears and remove any wax or debris. It’s especially popular for dogs with ear irritation and is often chosen where yeast is a suspected factor.

Lucaa+ Probiotic Ear Spray – Once you’ve completed a round of ear cleaning, usually after a week or so, you can follow up with this spray on an ongoing basis. It uses probiotics that activate on contact with common allergens to help maintain a healthier ear environment.

And of course, if the itching persists or worsens, we always suggest having a word with your vet to rule out anything more serious

Why does my dog bark at everything?

There could be many reasons why your dog is barking. Barking is a natural instinct and some barking can be a good thing, for instance to alert you that someone is outside.

Check out our blog on dogs barking for further information https://caninenaturalcures.co.uk/blogs/news/how-to-stop-your-dog-barking-at-everything

Can the Lucaa allergen-free spray be used on a dog's coat and skin?

Yes, the Lucaa allergen-free spray can be used on a dog's coat and skin. It is important to note however that the Lucaa spray contains lots of lovely positive bacteria so don't use anything anti-bacterial on your dog at the same time!

What do you suggest for a dog with noise sensitivity during fireworks season?

Yes, Calm Xtra herbal tincture is another product that can be used to help with noise sensitivity especially during the fireworks season. It can be given alongside homeopathic Noise Remedy. https://caninenaturalcures.co.uk/products/calm-xtra-natural-calmer-for-dogs

Do you have any products that could help with my dog's dominant behaviour?

Yes, we do have a homeopathic product for dominance issues. Dominant behaviour should be considered if your dog is squaring up to other dogs (head over shoulders, stiff body, raised tail) or if they respond to you with aggression. https://caninenaturalcures.co.uk/products/supremo-dominant-animals

How soon should I start giving my pet Noise Remedy homeopathic product before fireworks season?

Noise Remedy can be given on an as needed basis. For example if you know there is a fireworks display coming up or a local noisy event then give one tablet about 30 minutes before the event and then hourly during the noise. Alternatively if you have a dog that is chronically noise sensitive or you live in an area that is near a shoot for example then give one tablet x 3 per day. In the run-up to fireworks season many customers start giving Noise Remedy in mid-October.

What would you recommend for a dog that is aggressive towards other dogs?

Some dogs react strongly to other dogs — this could be due to fear, uncertainty, or a more dominant temperament. It’s a common challenge, especially on walks or in busy areas.

Depending on your dog’s behaviour, owners often consider:

Nonaggress Plus – often chosen for dogs who react out of fear or insecurity

Supremo – a popular option for dogs who tend to be more assertive or dominant with others

What is best for dogs that don't like the car?

Sorry to hear your dog finds car travel stressful – it’s more common than you’d think!

Start by helping them feel more relaxed in a stationary car. Sit with them, use treats or toys, and speak in a calm, happy voice. You can try giving Calm Xtra Calming Drops around 20 minutes before to support a more settled mood.

If your dog drools or seems unsettled while moving, some owners find Poor Traveller homeopathic tablets or Travel Herbal Tincture useful during travel. It's also a good idea to avoid feeding your dog in the 2–3 hours before a journey.

Keep trips very short at first, and make sure they end somewhere enjoyable (like the park or a favourite walk), so your dog builds positive associations with the car.

If your dog seems fearful due to a past bad experience, Sanper 2 is a gentle, natural option that some owners like to use for emotional support.

Every dog is different – feel free to tell us more about your situation and we’ll help you find the best approach.

What can I give my dog that itches due to a grass or pollen allergy?

Our Grass and Pollen Rescue Pack is a great option for dogs with seasonal allergies or skin sensitivities. It contains two gentle homeopathic products that work really well together:

Ditch the Itch: This homeopathic pillule includes a targeted blend of grass, pollen, and house dust mite to help desensitise your dog to common environmental allergens. It’s ideal for dogs with seasonal triggers and is given as one tiny pill, three times a day.

Skin Combo: This blend of homeopathic Sulphur and Nat Mur acts like a natural antihistamine. It helps to soothe itchy, irritated skin and provides relief during flare-ups. You can give it more frequently when needed (e.g., every 2-3 hours), then gradually reduce the dosage. Most dogs end up needing just 2–3 pills a day for ongoing comfort.

These two homeopathies complement each other beautifully—one targets the root cause of the allergy, and the other calms the skin symptoms.

For more severe reactions then consider using the Lucaa Probiotic Spray too.

My dog has itchy paws. - possibly yeast or allergy related.

If your dog is struggling with itchy or irritated paws, our Itchy Paw Pack is a great natural option to help bring relief. Skin Combo Pills – These tiny homeopathic tablets act like a natural antihistamine, helping to ease sore, inflamed skin. Pad Oil – A nourishing oil that you massage directly into your dog’s paw pads. It’s especially helpful for yeasty or inflamed paws, and also supports healthy skin and hydration.

How should I give homeopathy?

Homeopathy should be given on a clean tongue which means no strong flavours in the mouth so give them at least 20 minutes before or after a meal or at a time when you know you won't be feeding them. The tablets are small and sweet so most dogs will readily accept them however if you do have trouble then try disguising with a bland flavour such a little milk, plain yogurt or even butter. You can if necessary crush the tablets (best done in a fold of clean paper) and sprinkle straight on to their tongue or on milk.

How can I help my dog's smelly breath?

Smelly breath in dogs is usually caused by poor dental hygiene. Keep your dog's teeth clean naturally by giving them raw meaty bones to chew or give Fish Skin Treats as they also help to clean teeth. You can brush their teeth with Dog's Life Toothpaste and use Lucaa+ Pet Probiotic Dental Spray to help balance the oral microbiome, reduce plaque and tartar, and freshen breath naturally. Tartar X, a product based on sea vegetables, fragaria, peppermint, and parsley and sprinkled on their food, can also help with smelly breath and cleaner teeth.

What could be causing my dog's ear issues?

If your dog is constantly itching and scratching their ears it could be ear mites so you try our Ear Drops which are naturally anti-fungal, anti-bacterial and anti-parasitic. The gunk in your dog's ears could be related to a yeast infection, which is often linked to digestive health and imbalances in the natural bacterial balance. For these dogs try Lucaa+ Pet Probiotic Ear Care. Ear issues like this can sometimes be connected to the dog's overall gut health and microbiome so a Probiotic Concentrate would also help.
